Concert Preview
Want to know what you will hear when you attend a Sonos concert? This
page will show you the planned programs for the 2003 - 2004 season.
Sounds of the Season
- with flutists Michèle Sharik, Diane Tiller, and clarinetist
Michael Raposo
December 8th, 2003 - Walnut Creek, CA
December 10th through 24th, 2003 - Japan
Sonos Handbell Ensemble presents classical favorites, such as Bach's famous
Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Khachaturian's Sabre Dance.
Sonos will feature sounds from the Christmas season, including pieces from
"The Nutcracker" and "Messiah"; a delight for both the eyes and ears of all
generations. You'll hum along with tunes such as the stirring God Rest
You, Merry Gentlemen, the hauntingly beautiful Coventry Carol,
the toe-tapping, hand-clapping contemporary Feliz Navidad, and a
riotous version of Jingle Bells by the Quartet.
Pre-Concert Lecutre (December 8th only)
On December 8th, Music Director James Meredith will give a
Pre-Concert Lecture for 30 minutes before the concert begins. He will
give an informative talk about handbell history with time for questions
and answers about Sonos. It will also include a demonstration of the
ancient English practice of Change Ringing and a performance of the
audience favorite, "Scherzo on Hyfrydol" for three hyperanimated players.

American Tints
Spring, 2004
"American Tints" is America's contribution to great serious and not-so-serious
music. From Billings' Continental Harmony to Bernstein's Broadway,
including musical spoons and train whistle. "American Tints" is a
foot-stomping, horn tootin' evening.
